Ouch! My Shoulder is Killing Me!
Dear Tony,
I’ve been working out for nearly ten years and am proud to say that I look and feel half the age of many of my peers. I’ve never had an injury or an accident in the gym, but lately I’ve found that pressing movements, especially military style, cause my right shoulder to ache badly.
This has gone on for a couple of months, slowly getting worse. The other day I went to grab the milk jug from the top shelf of the fridge and had to use my other hand to keep from dropping it. On the 9-11 anniversary I went out to tape an American flag to my antenna, and couldn’t even hold it overhead with my right arm.
There’s no swelling or bruising. What have I done and where do I go?

Dumped into Ben & Jerry's
Dear Tony,
I’m not so lucky with love, and every time I get dumped I dive into the nearest carton of ice cream, or reach for one of those double-dipped Drumsticks, or really throw caution to the wind and head down to the bakery for a half-hour feast. I really want all that sugar (at the time), but it messes up my diet and my mood. I already know a lot about emotional eating, but somehow I just can’t get over wanting this sugar fix.

Too Much, Too Young?
Dear Tony,
I’ve been exercising for my entire adult life. My daughter practically grew up at daycare in my healthclub! I used to compete in Ms. Fitness contests when she was little and she’d sit on my husband’s shoulders clapping and cheering for me, yelling "mommy, mommy!" When she was about 11 she started coming to some classes with me, and doing a little weight training. She is almost 13 years old now, and becoming more body conscious, and she wants to begin training in earnest. I’d love to workout with her, but is it safe?

Can't Those Calves Turn into Cows?
I’ve been working out for about five years now and competing the last two. My diet is solid, my training on target and I stay looking great in and out of season. The only fault I have is small calves. They’re defined, but high and small.
I do calf raises a lot and even bought a pair of these spring-loaded shoes so that I’d sort of "bounce" around the house every where I went. After a couple weeks, that got real old. Do you have any sane advice?
