Can You Overcome Stage Fright?
Dear Tony,
I just attended a Ms. Fitness contest with my friend, a competitor. Seeing things from backstage was great, but it was also nerve-racking. My friend takes on anxiety as an enemy that needs to be dashed and clobbered. She says the backstage jitters help her perform even better.
That's not the case with me. I've got a big case of stage fright. What can I do to calm myself down? I really want to compete, but I'm scared to!

How Do I Balance Out My Physique?
Dear Tony,
I've done a lot of cycling, martial arts and skiing. Now, at age 35, I'd like to try the fitness contests. I'm pretty lean with good abdominal and leg development. But my arms and shoulders look like they were surgically attached to me from someone else's body. How do I balance out my physique?

Great Butts: Born or Built?
Dear Tony,
My rear end is as flat as a pancake. Everything else on me has some curves and meat to it, but not my butt. The seat of my pants just sort of billows back there, looking like a floppy balloon with no air.
I have a couple of aunts who also have flat behinds. My mom, however, has buns of steel and she’s in her 40s. Matter of fact, mom’s butt is her best asset. I train hard with squats and lunges, but nothing seems to change. This makes me think that great butts are perhaps born, not built. What’s your take on this, Tony?

What's With Water?
Dear Tony,
I’ve heard over and over that eight glasses of water a day are necessary for good health and weight management. Just the other day I went to a holistic physician who told me to drink eight glasses a day. In truth, I drink about 16 ounces a day. When I work out, I drink a little more.
Is forcing myself to drink water (which I don’t really like) really going to make any difference in maintaining or losing some weight?
