Tony Little - Fitness Formulas Are you a helpless chocolate addict? An aerobic diva who still can't beat the bulge? Lost your focus? Maybe I can help solve some of your dilemmas like how to avoid those tempting treats, how to treat a broken heart with exercise, how to get off the yo-yo of dieting, and how to treat a muscle injury or tear, plus more!

Q: No More Yo-Yoing

You can call me a yo-yo or a boomerang, but the bottom line is that every pound I've ever lost has always come back. Here's the worst part: when those pounds come back they invite a few new friends. Every time I regain weight, I set a new high-weight mark.

I admit to trying the fad diets, like Atkins and the Zone, but mostly, when I want to lose weight, I just restrict my calories. I do lots of egg whites and tuna. I pass on the casseroles and oven dishes, and keep my meals simple: lean meat, vegetables and once in a while, a carbohydrate. I ignore that feeling of hunger and can be quite disciplined.

When I'm not dieting, I still eat healthy. But I do love to go out to restaurants and indulge in a dessert from time-to-time. I can't believe that these minor infractions make such a big difference. What am I doing wrong?

Q: Chocoholic

Dear Tony,

My name is Lisa R. and I'm a chocoholic. Although I watch my other calories and I exercise, I still need at least two chocolate fixes a day, usually in the form of Hershey bars. Sometimes I binge and go for a half-dozen truffles. I know they are sabotaging my efforts to perfect my physique, but I can't seem to stop. Any suggestions?

Q: Debilitating Soreness Has This Girl Down!

Dear Tony,

I took my first kickboxing class two days ago and I am so sore that I could barely move. It took an entire week before I could get back in the class. I chalked the first incident up to beginner’s bad luck and put my heart and limbs into the program again. Totally disable the next day. I haven’t gone back. Am I just too old (38) for this!

Q: Po-tay-to or Po-tah-to?

Dear Tony,

My friend and I had a debate the other day over what was the better way to treat a pulled muscle. She said you should put heat on it. I said you should put ice on it. Who is right?
